KODAWest Camp 2012

The Catalina Experience™

July 2 ~ 8, 2012
(Monday through Sunday)

The Catalina Experience™ will take you to White’s Landing ~
a gateway to Catalina Islands’s interior and positioned on the island’s most expansive beach.
Included on their considerable acreage of pristine Southern California property
are basketball courts, beach volleyball courts, large sports field for soccer
and softball, and road access to the island’s interior. Their newly renovated dining hall
and outdoor eating area is decorated with a Baja flair to give campers that “south of the border” feel.

Activites include organized aquatics programs such as snorkeling among kelp forests, kayaking,
and oceanography; island ecology, hiking, astronomy, movies on the beach, nightly campfires;
arts & crafts, sports; talent shows and many KODA related activities!

Early Bird Rate:
$600.00 per camper
If paid in full and post-marked on or before February 14th

After February 15th – $650.00
If paid in full and postmarked on or before March 14th

After March 15th- $700.00
No Applications accepted after May 25th

All registrations require $200.00 deposits.

Their newly renovated dining hall and outdoor eating area is decorated with a Baja flair to give campers that “south of the border” feel.

• Brand new tent cabins with the highest quality framed tent enclosures atop platforms that are positioned above the ground and include a front deck with installed bench railings.

Activities include organized aquatics programs such as snorkeling and kayaking, fishing, hiking, free swim time,
use of their telescopes for astronomy, movies on the beach, nightly campfires, and other exciting events!

Applications and deposits will be posted and accepted in January.
Early bird prices and regular prices will be announced soon.

Staff applications will be posted shortly.
(Staff must be available June 30th through July 9th)

4th Annual KODA Camp

San Diego, CA

Camp Surf ~ Imperial Beach
June 27- July 3, 2010

Hearing kids of deaf adults (KODAs) ages 8 thru 17 will enjoy an amazing experience, exploring their identity as bicultural individuals through increased awareness of ASL, deaf culture, hearing culture and by sharing their own stories.

KODAs will spend seven days and six nights at Camp Surf, located on Imperial Beach. This 45 acre facility is lucky to have some of the last undeveloped coastline left in Southern California. Imagine falling asleep each night to the sound of the surf in the background knowing that tomorrow will bring fun, adventure and learning.

Activities will include: Surfing, Body Boarding, Sand Sculpturing, Rock Climbing, Archery, Games, Nightly Campfires, Skits, Arts & Crafts. Kayaking for older campers (12 and up only).

Unique life skills will include: Nature Hike, Sea Survival, Team Building, and Science of Waves.

Camp Director: Molly Bowen, a CODA from Northern California, will provide activities that help KODA campers understand their unique heritage and leave with a deep appreciation of their group identity as KODAs.

All registrations require non-refundable $125.00 deposits. Remaining Balance after the non-refundable deposit: $460.00
